SDG CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

We are excited to introduce the SDG Certification Program for SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices, an initiative aimed at recognizing and celebrating the remarkable efforts of youth-led organizations in the Philippines towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This groundbreaking certification program serves as a testament to the commitment and dedication of participating entities in promoting sustainable development, youth empowerment, and community engagement.

By obtaining the SDG certification, SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices gain recognition for their impactful projects and initiatives, along with a host of benefits that enhance their reputation, promote collaboration, and provide a platform to showcase their commitment to the SDGs.

Through this program, we aim to empower and inspire a new generation of leaders who are actively working towards a sustainable and inclusive future for all.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The SDG Certification Program aims to realize the following program objectives:

The program aims to empower SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to actively contribute to sustainable development and the localization of the SDGs in their barangay/community. Through the program, SK Councils will develop a deeper understanding of sustainable development principles and the SDGs, enabling them to drive positive change within their communities.

The program seeks to enhance awareness of the SDGs among SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices and the communities they serve. By promoting a comprehensive understanding of the 17 SDGs and their interlinkages, the program encourages SK Council members to become advocates for the goals and raise awareness among their peers, community members, and stakeholders.

The program aims to foster meaningful youth engagement in sustainable development efforts. By actively involving SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices in the SDG Certification Program, it encourages young people to participate in decision-making processes, develop leadership skills, and engage in collaborative initiatives that address local development challenges and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

The program focuses on supporting SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices in localizing the SDGs within their barangay/community. It provides guidance and resources for the design and implementation of SDG-focused projects and initiatives that align with local development priorities and contribute to the well-being of the community. By fostering local ownership of the SDGs, the program aims to ensure that the goals are relevant and impactful at the grassroots level.

The program aims to recognize and showcase the exemplary efforts of SK Councils in advancing sustainable development and SDG localization. Through the certification process, outstanding SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices will be acknowledged for their commitment, innovative projects, and positive impact on their communities. This recognition serves to inspire and motivate other SK Councils to actively engage in sustainable development initiatives.

The program seeks to build a network of SK Councils, SK Federations, and Local Youth Development Offices that are committed to sustainable development and the SDGs. By connecting these organizations across different barangays/ communities, the program creates opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices. This network strengthens their collective efforts and promotes collaboration in addressing common challenges and achieving shared SDG targets.
